I Love Food but I Indulge Moderately
Food is such a big part of everyone's life, infact, it is a neccessity for our survival. Something so vital to our existence has somehow become something that many have taken for granted. We love food, but we indulge moderately is a mindset that we should try to adopt so that we avoid wasting the precious resources of nature.
Why this concept?
Food is such a big part of our lives. Infact, we can't live without food. In the modern world, due to industrialisation (&many many more factors and reasons) food has turned into a normalised product available in our lives. It has become so accessible to a lot of us that many of us have taken it for granted. We start to consume (and produce) food in ways that are unhealthy, sometimes even unethical and unprincipled. But I am not here to point fingers, instead, I am to share a perspective of asking all of us to reflect on how we each can do something to change this culture of over-consuming.

This series aims to raise consciousness
in our food consumption
The Virtue of Moderation
Some people understand it as "not too much, not too little". When we eat, we eat moderately, when we indulge, we indulge moderately and avoid wasting food or even the things we consume every day. A lot of time, we WANT to eat rather than we NEED to eat. Of course, it is not wrong to indulge, but the quality that we need to observe is MODERATION.
A commodity
Food is essential for every living thing to grow and be productive however, along the way, food has become a commercialised commodity, to the extreme that it can be an indication of status. This material need is exploited for profit and turns into many global crises (rubbish waste, pollution, livestock exploitation due to heightened demand of food product etc) Yet there are people in the world that are deprived of such necessity
so let’s all put in conscious effort
to consume moderately, not just food;
but in everything we use
“In all matters MODERATION is desirable,”, "The moderation He calls for demands an end to destructive excesses that have plagued humanity and fomented ceaseless contention and turmoil."
